- Mr. Kirsten advised the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Bahrain on the implementation of a national health promotion strategy as part of the overall national goal to reduce the incidence of non-communicable diseases. He crafted the original national strategy, has been training key personnel in the Kingdom and assisting with the implementation of specific parts of the strategy.

- A large, multinational oil company based in Latin America called on Mr. Kirsten to execute a comparative assessment of what other multinational oil companies were doing to promote health within their organizations. Mr. Kirsten published a detailed report offering key recommendations and strategies for an effective and cost efficient health promotion program.
- The US-based Wye River Group on Healthcare has asked Mr. Kirsten to provide expertise on international examples of successful models for changing the social and cultural behaviors that affect health.

The congress is hosted in partnership with the Institute for Health & Productivity Management (IHPM) on an annual basis. - International Institute for Health Promotion (IIHP)
Meetings from 1996-2000 and in 2007. These high profile meetings for health and health promotion professionals represented a total of 50 different countries.
- Corporate Forum on Global Health Promotion
Three separate events were held in 2000 (Washington, DC), 2003 (Iguassu Falls, Brazil), and 2005 (Intel Corporation in Chandler, Arizona, US). - Arab Health 2004:
New Approaches in Healthcare Management, Dubai, UAE. The conference was the first of its kind with regard to focusing on health promotion at the workplace in the Arabian Gulf. - Lifetime International Academy 2002, 2004 & 2005, Frankfurt, Germany.
The Lifetime Academy featured a conference on Corporate Health in Europe for three years in a row. Speakers from multi-national corporations across Europe reported on good practices and the cost-benefit of their workplace heath promotion programs.
